COLUMBUS
Peggy Joyce Miner, 85, of Columbus, died at 5:39 p.m. on January 2, 2024 at her home.
She was born March 21, 1938, in New Albany, Indiana, the daughter of Joseph E. Walker and Beulah (Weatherholt) Bustle. She married Paul N. Miner on May 9, 1957.
Peggy was a member of Old Union United Church of Christ. As a child, she was active in school, church, 4-H, and was a leader for the Girl Scouts and Brownies. She later became active in the Lady’s Aid group at several of the churches she attended. Peggy loved to bake and has earned multiple awards at the 4-H fair. She was also an avid plant enthusiast.
The funeral will be at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, January 6, 2024, at Old Union United Church of Christ with Pastor Ed Boston officiating. Calling will be an hour before the service. Burial will be at Old Union Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital or Our Hospice of South-Central Indiana.
Survivors include daughters, Patty June (Greg) Bishop, Pam (Tony) Williams, Mary Ann (Joe McHugh) Reavis, and Denise Mae (Doug) Scoggan all of Columbus; grandchildren, Beth Anne, Emily Joyce (Mark), Tessa Jo, Eric Scott, Anna Mae (Chris), Jenna Christine (Will); and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Miner who passed away September 3, 2021; her parents, Joseph Walker and Beulah Bustle; and brother, Joseph Walker.
Services were entrusted to the Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home.
