2014

The Columbus Chinese New Year Celebration was held at Columbus East High School. The event showcased and celebrated the diversity of Chinese culture and offered traditional Chinese music, dance and theater skits.

1999

Orville Fleetwood of Columbus, dubbed the “Asphalt King,” acquired a 1999 Bentley Arnage for his classic car collection. Columbus residents often saw Fleetwood driving around town in his gold-flaked Mack truck or one of his many classic cars.

1974

The Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barbershop Quartet Singing in America, Inc. held its annual state convention in the Columbus East High School auditorium. Hosted by the Columbus Chordsmen, the event attracted more than 1,000 members to the city for the three-day event.
