Columbus resident Joshua Kiilu cooked a traditional Kenyan meal for North Christian Church members and acquaintances during a “Cooking Across Cultures” group meeting in the church’s downstairs kitchen and dining area. One of the foods served during the meeting was a Chapati, a traditional Kenyan bread.

Several arts-related items were collected to be displayed at Columbus City Hall and placed in the Celebration 2000 time capsule, which would be opened in 50 years. Some of the items included a montage of photos from Columbus Popfest and artists’ sketches of Columbus architecture.

Bartholomew County resident Mrs. Robert Hall called The Republic reporting that she had counted 41 robins in her yard at the KOA Campground near the Ogilville exit of Interstate 65. This was considered a record for the area, with the previous record being 20 robins.
