Joshua Lucas Mauzy

INDIANAPOLIS

Joshua Lucas Mauzy, 24, of Indianapolis, Indiana, died the early morning of Wednesday, January 31, 2024.

Josh was born November 11, 1999, in Toledo, Ohio, the son of Lawrence D. Mauzy and Cora R. Wright Mauzy.

Josh graduated from Columbus East High School in 2017.

He enlisted in the United States Army, 2018, and served four years. His primary specialty was 35N10 Signals Intelligence Analyst, at the rank of Specialist. He was stationed at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. Through his service he was awarded: Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal (4th award), Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global war on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service, and Army Service Ribbon. Josh completed 52 weeks at the United States Military Academy Preparatory School.

Josh moved to Indianapolis, Indiana, in 2022, to work and attend college. Josh currently was working full-time at ENTEGRA , Indianapolis, Indiana, as a Technical Data Analyst. He was also a full-time student at Butler University in the Applied Business Technology program.

Josh loved technology. He recently purchased a Tesla that he loved to drive. He loved to travel. He was a devoted friend to those who came to know him. He is greatly missed and loved by family and friends.

A private funeral with the family will be held on Wednesday, February 7, 2024.

In keeping with the family’s request, cremation will take place and everyone is invited to attend Josh’s Celebration of Life gathering. It will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn – Columbus/Edinburgh, 12210 N. Executive Dr, Edinburgh, Indiana 46127.

Flowers and remembrances will be gladly accepted at Josh’s Celebration of Life. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grief Share Team, Connection Point Christian Church, 1800 N. Green Street, Brownsburg, Indiana 46112. These donations may be made through the funeral home.

Josh is survived by his parents, Lawrence and Cora Mauzy, his sister, Grace Mauzy, and Matthew (Amya) Mauzy, and his grandmother, Marilyn Mauzy. And aunts, uncles, cousins and many who loved him.
