COLUMBUS
Brett Allen Long, 60, of Columbus, died at 3:55 p.m. on February 1, 2024, at Columbus Regional Hospital.
Brett was born May 19, 1963, in Columbus, the son of Thomas Edward and Linda Ann Eickleberry Long.
Brett was a lifelong resident of Columbus. He formerly worked in Construction in Roofing. Brett enjoyed watching racing and was a Tony Stewart fan. In his younger years, he loved camping and fishing. He was very fond of his dog, Zoey. Brett was a simple man of few friends, but he held his friends near and dear to his heart, especially his neighbors, Daniel, and Stephanie Baker. A loving brother and uncle, Brett will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Memorials may be made to the Bartholomew County Humane Society through the funeral home.
Survivors include his brother, Larry (Annette S. Hoover) Long, of Columbus; nephew, Jeremy Weed; niece, Veronica Sievers; and several great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services were entrusted to the Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home.
