Frances E. Hundley

Frances Elizabeth (Cornell) Hundley passed away peacefully on February 5, 2024.

Up until the end Frances maintained her kindness, grace, compassion, love of family and friends, and expressed gratitude for her long life, full of wonderful and varied experiences.

Frances grew up in Louisville, Kentucky and was introduced to the love of her life, Joe Hundley, they were married in 1954.

Frances and Joe had three children Larry Joe, Vickie Jane, and Janet Elizabeth. Frances’ biggest joy in life was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Frances and Joe loved traveling, starting with camping in a truck camper shell, in their younger years, and eventually traveling in a luxury hotel on wheels. They belonged to the Kountry Aire Camping Club and made many valuable friendships throughout the United States. Frances continued her wanderlust after joining a senior’s group traveling the world with Conway Travel and on many cruises with her family.

Frances is survived by her daughters, Vickie (Steve) Scrougham and Janet Elizabeth Bailey; grandchildren, Jo (Aubrey) Jones, Joseph (Emily) Scrougham, Kelby (Jeff) Turmail; and great-grandchildren, Fancy Parris, Michael Parris, Andrew Jones, Ella Scrougham, Nash Scrougham, Tucker Turmail and Teegan Turmail.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Emil and Victoria Cornell; her husband Joe; and her very beloved son, Larry Joe.

The funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, February 10, 2024, at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Virgil Clotfelter officiating.

Family and friends may gather for a time of visitation from 9:30 a.m. to time of service.

She will be laid to rest next to her husband at Bethel Baptist Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
