Bull Dogs capture Connersville Invitational title

CONNERSVILLE — The Columbus North gymnasts claimed the title at the Connersville Invitational championship on Saturday, finishing first out of 15 teams with a 105.6.

Bloomington South finished second with a 101.925. Franklin Central edged host Connersville 100.4 to 100.15 for third.

North’s Reese Euler won the all-around title with a 36.95. Euler won the vault (9.575), bars (9.1) and floor (9.55) and placed sixth on the beam (8.725).

Hannah Perry finished second on the floor (9.4), third on the vault (9.125) and fourth on the bars (8.575) on her way to a fourth-place all-around finish with a 35.2.

Also for the Bull Dogs, Emerson Chambers took ninth on the floor (9.075) and 10th on the bars (8.075) en route to 11th in the all-around (33.3). Ellie McIntier was seventh on the beam (8.625) and 14th in the all-around (33.0). Laney Acton placed seventh on the bars (8.15).

North will compete in the Conference Indiana meet on Monday at Bloomington South, then will close the regular season Thursday at home against Owen Valley.
