COLUMBUS
Nettie P. Jessie, 88, a longtime resident of Columbus, passed away peacefully at 11:59 a.m. Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.
Nettie was born September 7, 1935, in Glasgow, Kentucky, the daughter of John W. and Eula J. Fields. She married William T. Jessie March 2, 1957. He preceded her in death April 11, 1993.
Mrs. Jessie was the true example of a great mother, loving grandmother and devoted great-grandmother. She was extremely proud of her family and found joy during those times when the family could get together. Road trips were one of her favorite things to do with her family. It was the time spent together, especially with the grandchildren and great-grandchildren, that Nettie really cherished. Her cooking will also be missed as her salmon patties were a delicious family favorite.
Survivors include her sons, Larry (Debbie) Jessie, Tim (Cheyenne) Jessie, both of Columbus; grandchildren, Matt (Jordan) Jessie, Ashley (Jeremiah) Clark, Kasey (Skyler) Combs, Billie (Brent) Lambert, Timmy Jessie, Mary Jessie, Hunter Jessie, Chloe Jessie, Allen Jessie, Eric Froedge, Patrick (Katherine) Froedge and many great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William; sons, Terry Jessie, Eugene Jessie; granddaughter, Whitney Jessie and great-granddaughter, Savanna Jessie.
A graveside committal service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday at Garland Brook Cemetery with Rev. Larry Fields officiating.
