2014

Hauser’s girls basketball team pulled out a 56-54 win against Oldenburg Academy in the opening round of the Class A Jac-Cen-Del Sectional. The Jets beat Jac-Cen-Del in the second overtime after overcoming a three-point deficit in the closing seconds of the first overtime.

1999

Ten Columbus East High School students witnessed a portion of the historic impeachment trial of President Bill Clinton during a trip to Washington, D.C. The students, on a school-sponsored trip with teacher Anne Hoffman, sat in the Capitol’s upstairs gallery facing the senators.

1974

The Bartholomew Consolidated School Corp. board voted unanimously to name the new Columbus East High School planetarium in honor of the Rev. Loren S. Noblitt, who taught for 22 years in the Bartholomew County system before retiring in 1954. Noblitt taught for a total of 47 years, and joined the Columbus High School staff in 1937, where he served until his retirement.
