Michael Thomas Bova Jr., of Jeffersonville, formerly of Columbus, passed from this life peacefully of natural causes at 8:12 p.m. Friday, February 9, 2024, at his home in Jeffersonville surrounded by family.

Mr. Bova was born March 27, 1936, in Columbus, Indiana, the son of Michael Thomas Bova Sr. and Grace Virginia Querry Bova.

He married Diana Gail Ross June 9, 1956, in Columbus.

He graduated from Columbus High School in 1954 and attended Butler University.

He was a long time resident of Grandview Lake and was formerly employed at Cummins Engine Company, Reliance Electric, WCSI Radio and Coldwell Banker Realtors and was the former owner of Bova Liquors.

He attended New Zion Methodist Church, was a former deacon at First Presbyterian Church.

Former Key Man and Indian awards in Columbus Jaycees, lifetime member of United States Junior Chamber of Commerce, Chairman of Sesquicentennial Parade, past board member of Grandview Lot Owners Association, lifetime member of Elks Lodge, member of Meridian Kiwanis and volunteered at USO and Love Chapel.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years; sons, Michael (Rochelle) Bova III of Atlanta and Douglas (Paula) Bova Sr. of Jeffersonville; grandchildren, Douglas (Larissa) Bova Jr., Whitney (Justin) Strickland, Jessica (Brandon) McKinney, Brooke (Gerald) Hardesty and Kelsey (Andrew) Watts; great-grandsons, Kaden McKinney, Benjamin, Ash and Zeke Strickland and Lucas Bova and Remy Watts; great-granddaughters, Marbella Bova and Brooklyn McKinney.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The funeral will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Barkes, Weaver &Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Pastor Daryl Gressel officiating.
