Terry L. Huntsman

COLUMBUS, INDIANA

Terry L. Huntsman, 73, a resident of Columbus, Indiana, peacefully passed from this life to be with his Heavenly Father the morning of Friday, January 26, 2024, at his home.

Terry was born in Columbus, January 13, 1951, the loving son of Ed W. and Barbara P. (Ward) Huntsman. On March 30, 1996, Terry married Roana M. Wellman; she survives.

Terry was a 1970 graduate of Columbus High School and a faithful member of Garden City Christian Church. Terry was a plumber by trade and began working for his father and himself before working as foreman at Lohmeyer Plumbing for 21 years. Afterwards, he continued working for himself as a handyman for the next 11 years before retirement. Terry turned his hobby of woodworking into a job becoming a partner in Columbus Custom Woodworking.

Terry enjoyed woodworking and traveling and he especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends. A history buff, Terry had a passion for trains, older automobiles and antique tractors. Terry will be remembered for his quick wit and sense of humor and for being a reliable friend and neighbor that was always willing to help others in need.

Terry’s life will be cherished by his loving wife of 27 years, Roana; children, Jennifer Huntsman (John Manlove) of Greensburg, Joshua Huntsman of Columbus, Aaron (Stephanie) Banister of Toledo, Ohio, Jessica (Michael) Martin of Columbus, Rachelle (Matt) Byron of Nashville, Tennessee and Rusty Huntsman of Columbus; grandchildren, Caitlin and Nicole Willin, Michael Manlove, Mason Huntsman, Lizzie and Will Banister and Heidi and Phoebe Martin; sisters, Susie (Steve) Newland of Columbus, Pam (Bill) Branson of Florida and Janet (Mike) Ashburn of Paoli; brother, Rev. Paul (Ginny) Huntsman of Bedford; brother-in-law, T.C. McIntosh of Florida; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Patti McIntosh; and his brother, Jim Huntsman.

The celebration of life will be held on March 2nd at Garden City Christian Church. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and the service will begin at 3 p.m. with Pastor Brian Gilroy and Rev. Paul Huntsman officiating.
