Sinders to keynote Columbus Area Chamber of Commerce annual meeting

COLUMBUS, Ind. — The Columbus Area Chamber of Commerce has announced that Vanessa Green Sinders will address the business community at its annual meeting, presented by Centra Credit Union.

The chamber event starts at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 2 at The Commons.
Sinders, president and CEO of the Indiana Chamber of Commerce, will share insights how to propel Indiana to new heights, emphasizing the abundant investment, expertise, and opportunities that define our state. She will rally us to collectively shape a world-class business environment, fostering the prosperity of our vibrant community.

Smithville, a provider of voice, internet, and security solutions, is sponsoring the keynote
address.

Sinders became the Indiana Chamber’s first female president and CEO in
January.

After 20 years in Washington D.C., Sinders moved “home” to Indianapolis with her husband, a Clay County native.
Previously, she served as senior vice president for government affairs at
Charter Communications, a Fortune 100 cable and broadband company.
For a decade, earlier in her career, she held high-profile positions on Capitol Hill, including chief of staff for then-U.S. Sen. Scott Brown of Massachusetts and policy director for former U.S. Sen. Judd Gregg of New Hampshire. Additionally, she was chief of staff for the “Campaign to Fix the Debt,” a nonpartisan issue-based coalition advocating for better national fiscal policies.

She received a bachelor’s degree in government with a minor in economics from Dartmouth College.
In addition to the keynote presentation, the chamber will award the Edna V. Folger Teacher of the Year Award, the Company of the Year Award, the Project of the Year Award, and the Community Service Award.
