Hansons, Monsters of Rock to meet for broomball title

Top-seeded Hansons and No. 2-seed Monsters of Rock will play for the Columbus Broomball League Championship at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at Hamilton Community Center and Ice Arena.

No. 3-seed Jennings County BC and No. 5-seed Our Name Is Earl will battle for third place at 5:30 p.m. Sunday. That will follow the fifth-place game at 4:30 p.m. between No. 4-seed CCA and No. 6-seed Toyota Tsunamis.

Hansons advanced to the final with a 7-0 shutout of Our Name Is Earl. Max Warr netted four goals, Matt Street scored two and Keith Henry added one.

Monsters of Rock blanked Jennings 6-0 to advance to the final behind goals from Wise, Ben Eckhart, Zack Henderson, Ricky Hooten, Katelyn Patera and Thomas Andre.

In the opening round, Jennings had beaten Toyota Tsunamis by forfeit, and Our Name Is Earl edged CCA 2-1. Darren Eckerty had both goals for Earl, and Shawn Bauman scored for CCA.
