Mike Hawkins, 56, of Yorktown, IN passed away Thursday, February 29, 2024. Formerly of Columbus, IN,Mike graduated from Columbus East High School in 1985 and attended Vincennes University before transferring to Indiana University graduating with a BA in Business Administration. He has worked in IT for several companies, most recently with the AAA Hoosier Auto Club.Mike loved music, particularly the Grateful Dead and Phish. He enjoyed traveling overseas with Iceland as his favorite destination. He especially enjoyed the oddities of life, visiting offbeat museums and locations and meeting many interesting people along the way.He was preceded in death by his father Bill Hawkins, mother Rose Hawkins, and sisters Ann Hawkins and Ellen DeGruise. He is survived by his sister Sharon Dunfee and brother Bill Hawkins.A celebration of life will be planned for a later date.Arrangements were entrusted to Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home.
