The United Way of Bartholomew County set a campaign record for the third-straight year with a total of $4,079,484. The feat was announced at United Way’s annual meeting at the Factory 12 Event Loft in downtown Columbus.
1999
The American Girls Pastimes Party, hosted by ABC-Stewart Montessori School, combined history and fun as it explored how girls spent their time in the days before television and video games. The party was based on the American Girls Collection, a series of books, dolls and accessories that chronicles the lives of six girls who live in different periods of American history.
1974
“Putting It Together,” an annual charity show sponsored by the Columbus Jayshees, was held in the lower level of North Christian Church. Models wore spring fashion from Anderson’s Dress Shop and shoes from B&B Shoe Store during the show, and all proceeds were divided between the Opportunity Center and the Bartholomew County Retirement Center.
