Greenwood suspect arrested on multiple charges after traffic stop

COLUMBUS, Ind. — A Greenwood man was arrested on multiple drug dealing charges as a result of a traffic stop early Monday morning, Columbus police said.
At approximately 2:35 a.m., a CPD officer stopped a vehicle near Third Street and Washington Street for a traffic violation. The officer made contact with the driver of the vehicle, Casey L. Kappes, 35, of Greenwood. While speaking with Kappes, the officer observed that he was extremely nervous and was breathing heavily. A search of Kappes’ vehicle was conducted a short time later and officers located multiple bags containing cocaine and methamphetamine packaged for sale, police said.
Kappes was placed under arrest and transported to the Bartholomew County Jail where he was remanded with a 48 hour hold on the following preliminary charges:
Dealing Cocaine (Level 2 Felony)
Dealing Methamphetamine (Level 3 Felony)
