Indiana State Police are reporting tornado touchdowns in Jefferson County

JEFFERSON COUNTY — Indiana State Police said tornadoes have reportedly touched down at multiple locations around Jefferson County. Multiple homes have been damaged. Trees and power lines are down and power is out across the Jefferson County area.

State police are asking people to avoid the area and allow first responders to continue to assess the damage and to get to those who need assistance.

Jefferson County is located in far southeast Indiana — its county seat is Madison.
