Sharon Kay Poe, 80, of Taylorsville, passed from this life on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at 8:09 P.M. at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.
Mrs. Poe was born on April 8, 1943, in Crawford County, Indiana the daughter of Alford and Marjorie Barnett Hawkins. On December 2, 1961, she married John Ronald Poe. Mrs. Poe retired after several years of service from KFC Restaurant where she was a manager.
She enjoyed bowling, puzzles, watching hummingbirds, and crocheting but above all she had a tremendous love for her family. Her grandchildren were her world and she enjoyed helping raise them. She had a special place in each of their hearts.
Survivors include her children, Duane (Dixie) Poe of Columbus, Darin (Ali) Poe of Avon, and Tina (Jimmy) Norfrey of Columbus; grandchildren, Larissa, Dalton “D.J.”, Leslie, Dylan, Hannah, Grace, Sierra, Daniel, Savanna, Drew, Grant; 15 great grandchildren; siblings, Brenda, Shirley, Keith, and Pamela; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Ronald Poe on December 20, 2018; and two brothers, Donald and Mark.
In keeping with Mrs. Poe’s wishes cremation will take place and a celebration of life service will be held at a later date. Service times will be posted as they become available.
Services have been entrusted to Barkes, Weaver &Glick Funeral Home.
