Rachel Sabotin finished her swimming career with a bang over the weekend, helping lead Akron to a runner-up team finish in the College Swimming Coaches Association of America National Invitational Championship.
Sabotin, a senior Trinity Lutheran graduate from Columbus, placed third in the 200-yard individual medley in a personal-best 1 minute, 59.18 seconds, the 100 butterfly in 53.25 seconds and 200 butterfly in 1:58.93. She also took seventh in the 100 IM in a personal-best 55.31 and swam on the Zips’ second-place 200 freestyle, 400 medley and 200 medley relay teams.
White earns River States Conference honors
Saint Mary of the Woods basketball player Madison White has earned a pair of honors from the River States Conference.
White, a junior from Columbus North, was SMWC’s representative for the RSC Champions of Character Team. She also was named to the All-RSC Scholar Athlete Team.
Stahl helps ISU to first-round victory
Saige Stahl finished with three points, seven rebounds, two assists and two steals in Indiana State’s 66-54 win over Southern Illinois in the first round of the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament.

Rutan powers, pitches EKU to wins
Maddi Rutan hit the go-ahead solo home run in Eastern Kentucky 2-1 win over Western Kentucky on Wednesday. She also earned the win in the circle in the contest.

Sierra Norman went 1 for 3 with a two-run homer in Marian’s 10-2 over Grace College on Tuesday.

Josie Lemmons was 2 for 5 with a triple, an RBI and scored four runs in IU Southeast’s 17-5 win over Brescia on Tuesday.

Jakob Meyer pitched two innings of relief and earned his first win in Evansville’s 6-5 victory over Southeast Missouri on Wednesday.
