We do not elect a president to arm wrestle or win dance contests. We elect our leader to work the levers of power in the Oval Office. Nobody in 50 years has been able to work those levers better than Joe Biden.
He was able to get Congress to pass a bill that has begun to improve our roads, bridges and railroad lines. It will be building charging stations for electric cars across the country. It is also bringing high-speed internet to rural areas which sorely need access.
COVID brought serious supply chain problems and, combined with greed, drove prices of goods through the roof. Biden money policies fought rising prices better than the leaders of other countries did. His plan reduced the number of jobless workers to low levels not seen for 50 years, and kept the stock market humming along.
He was able to lever Congress into passing the first gun control act in 30 years. Laws to address our deadly gun problems in a sensible manner have been needed for decades.
He was able to gather the most allies in our history to help Ukraine fight Russia to keep their freedom. Voting rights and freedom are a big deal to Old Joe and his party.
Under Biden we have supported Israel after the brutal terrorist attacks on October 7, providing business for U.S. defense firms and work for Americans, but he has seen that Israel has gone too far seeking revenge and that a cease fire is needed to provide some help to the helpless men, women and children in Gaza who are being used as shields by the Hamas gunmen.
Joe Biden has also been working to reduce health care costs, including to reduce the cost of needed drugs like insulin. We mustn’t forget his work to create the Affordable Care Act when he was vice president that has helped millions of Americans pay for health care to save their own lives.
Although his efforts on the southern border have been stymied by GOP failure to vote for a bill to pay for border control, the number of illegal entries has been reduced and customs agents have stopped more deadly drugs at ports of entry than ever before.
These efforts were made to help all Americans. It is not just lower insulin costs for members of his country club or better roads for blue states, or a better economy for his family. Joe Biden has worked for all Americans.
Old Joe may walk more slowly and he may speak more slowly than other old timers, but don’t mistake his speech defects for being senile. He is a better operator of the levers of power than any president in 50 years.
