Seymour man arrested for practicing dentistry without Indiana license

A Seymour man was arrested for practicing dentistry without an Indiana state license, a Level 6 felony, and criminal recklessness, a Class A misdemeanor, police report.

After his arrest, Freddie Phillipe Pascual, 31, also known as Freddie Chapin, was booked into the Jackson County Jail in Brownstown at 1:37 p.m. and was being held without bond.

According to a news release from Lt. C.J. Foster with the Seymour Police Department, patrol officers received a complaint this morning about an individual operating a dentist office without a license.

After the initial complaint, investigators conducted a follow up investigation and interviews, Foster said.

Patrol officer and investigators with the police department along with an investigator from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department then executed a Jackson Superior Court 1 search warrant at a residence on Gaiser Drive in Seymour.

During the search, investigators located evidence showing dental work was being performed at the location. Some of the evidence included dental instruments, medications, ledgers, miscellaneous items and an undisclosed amount of United States currency, Foster said.

He said Phillipe Pascual was arrested after the result of the investigation and declined to be interviewed. Additional charges are possible.

The Seymour Police Department was assisted by the Jackson County Sheriff Department, the Jackson County Prosecutor’s Office and the Office of the Indiana Attorney General.
