2014

A Doggy Easter Egg Hunt was held next to Muddy Paws Pet Salon in Columbus. Twenty percent of the proceeds from owner entry fees, raffle tickets and money paid for pictures with the Easter Bunny benefited the Bartholomew County Humane Society.

1999

Cellphone service went digital for the first time in Columbus when New Jersey-based Omnipoint Communications placed four antennas on local towers and a building. The service competed with existing analog cell phone service and included phones by makers such as Motorola, Ericsson and Siemens.

1974

The Theta chapter of Kappa Kappa Sigma donated glasses to schoolchildren, as well as the Opportunity Center, Columbus Foundation for Youth, United Developmental Services, the Mental Health Association, the Salvation Army and the American Red Cross.
