SEYMOUR — The Jackson County Sheriff’s Department has opened a death investigation after a body of a man was found on Thursday evening west of Seymour near Bellford Bridge.
Sheriff’s deputies received a call at 7:11 p.m. Thursday from an individual who located the male in a wooded area near the bridge.
The investigation is ongoing, and an autopsy is being scheduled to determine the cause of death.
The identity of the male is being withheld at this time until family members have been contacted, deputies said.
