Alongsider Church — Alongsider is a community of house churches coming together to worship as one body on the first and third Sundays monthly at 9:30 a.m. The church meets in the cafeteria at WD Richards Elementary School. Park in the back by the tennis courts and enter through door 24. On the second and fourth Sundays, house churches meet in homes across Columbus for a conversational study of the past sermon and deeper fellowship.

Asbury United Methodist Church — Asbury offers a traditional service at 8:45 a.m. and a contemporary service at 11 a.m. Nursery is available for both services. Kids’ church is offered only at the 11 a.m. service. Sunday school classes meet at 10 a.m. Asbury offers a variety of classes and group studies at various times during the week. On Easter, March 31, Sunday morning organ-led worship will be at 8:45 a.m. Easter breakfast will be served at 9:30 a.m. Easter activities and egg hunt will be at 10 a.m. and band-led worship at 11 a.m.

Central Heights Church of God — The church offers 9:30 a.m. Sunday School for all ages and worship services at 10:30 a.m. The message will be led by Pastor Jason Johnson. Children’s church takes place during service and a nursery is available.

Easter service will be at 10:30 a.m. led by Pastor Jason Johnson. Breakfast will be at 9:30 a.m. All are welcome and nursery is available.

East Columbus United Methodist Church — Sunday morning worship service begins at 9 a.m. The morning blended worship service includes praise music and traditional hymns. Children receive a special message during children’s moment and are dismissed for children’s church during the service. Sunday school begins at 10:10 a.m. with classes for all age groups. Holy Communion is served on the first Sunday of each month.

Fairlawn Presbyterian Church — The church has in-person and Zoom services at 9:30 a.m. To join on Zoom, email the church office at [email protected] to request a Zoom link.

Women’s Bible study is the third Tuesday of each month at 1 p.m.

Faith Lutheran Church — Worship each Sunday begins at 9 a.m. in person and livestreamed on the church’s Facebook page. Most Sundays, Sunday school and an adult Bible study are offered from 10:15 to 11 a.m. Wednesday evening worship is offered at 6:30 p.m. each week.

Preschool classes continue throughout the school year and the congregation offers an afterschool program each school day from 3 to 6 p.m. with busing from Southside Elementary.

First Baptist Church — Worship begins at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday mornings, with both a nursery and children’s programming available. The church also has several Sunday school offerings and different Bible study groups that meet throughout the week. The church is excited to have a new senior pastor, the Rev. Evan Guse, who will be preaching a sermon series titled “Simple Prayer” during the season of Lent.

Easter morning will begin with a Sunrise Service at 7:30 a.m. in the chapel, followed by breakfast in the fellowship hall and the regular worship service at 9:30 a.m.

First Presbyterian Church — Easter will be celebrated at either of two identical communion services (9 and 11 a.m.), with a special brass ensemble, and led by our sanctuary choir to sing Handel’s Hallelujah Chorus. Pastor Felipe Martinez’s sermon “I Have Seen the Savior” will be based on John 20:1-18.

Join the church between services for its traditional Easter brunch at 10 a.m. and Easter egg hunt at 10:30 a.m. This Easter, the church will stream only the 9 a.m. service, which will be in person in the sanctuary (you may wear a mask) or on Facebook, Zoom or YouTube. First United Methodist Church — On Sunday, March 31, Easter is celebrated, beginning with a sunrise service in the green space north of the church (weather permitting) at 7 a.m. This will be followed with a breakfast in the fellowship hall at 8 a.m., Sunday school at 9 a.m., and the Easter celebration in the sanctuary at 10 a.m.

At 10 a.m., the Rev. Howard Boles will deliver the message, “Saying Yes to Life and Joy and Hope!” The Scripture will be John 20:1-18. The church encourages those attending in person to arrive 10 minutes before the service. Child care will be available from 9:45 a.m. until the end of the 10 a.m. service. Sunday school for children ages 4-12 will start at 9 a.m.

For those unable to attend the in-person service or not yet comfortable meeting in person, service livestreams will be available on the church Facebook page and the church YouTube channel (FUMC Columbus). Videos will be available on the church website for later viewing as well.

The United Women in Faith turned 155 years old on March 23rd! The UWF will hold a birthday party on April 3rd at 1:30 p.m. All women of the church are invited.

Join the church on April 8 at noon for a brief service of mystery in preparation for the solar eclipse. This service will offer a time of prayer and reflection. The preschool and church office will be closed throughout this day.

Easter festival worship with the Columbus Brass is Sunday, March 31, at 8 and 10:30 a.m. Easter breakfast is served at 9 a.m. in the west wing parish hall, and an egg hunt is at 10 a.m.

Grace Lutheran’s Alpha class, an introduction to and a review of the basics of the Christian faith, will be on Tuesdays through April 9, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. A free meal is served at 6 p.m., followed by a brief video introducing the Alpha class. Mount Pleasant Christian Union Church — The church invites the community to visit the little 150-year-old country church for a 10:30 a.m. service every Sunday. The church preaches out of the King James Bible and sings out of hymn books. The church is Bible-based, Christ-centered, and spirit-led.

Petersville United Methodist Church — On Sunday, March 31, the congregation is invited to the Easter Sunrise Service at 6:45 a.m. at the Hope Moravian Church. An hour later, at 7:45 a.m., a light breakfast will be served at the Petersville church. Pastor Rebecca Milne will bring the sermon at Petersville at 9 a.m. to celebrate the Risen Lord. Scriptures will come from John 20:1-18. Communion will be served.

Kathy Bush will serve as song and worship leader and will direct the choir. Teresa Covert will share the children’s sermon. Connie Nolting will be the pianist and Chris Kimerling the organist. The service may be viewed each week on Facebook.

Anyone in the community is invited to enjoy a meal and a time of sharing at “The Table” at the church every second Thursday at 6 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. There is no charge for the meal, and “The Table’s” next gathering will take place on April 11.

Sandy Hook United Methodist Church — Sandy Hook United Methodist Church gathers weekly for in-person and online worship. This Sunday, March 31, Easter Sunday service starts at 11 a.m. Pastor Paul Dazet will bring a message regarding resurrection stories, “Raised”.

There will be no Sunday School and the nursery will be closed so that all families can worship together.

Donuts and coffee will begin being served at 10 a.m.

St. Paul Lutheran Church — Easter Festival Communion services will be held Sunday at 7, 9, and 10:45 a.m. with Pastor Doug Bauman presenting the message “Making Sense of It All” based on Mark 16:1-8. Children will process before each service with Alleluia banners. Easter breakfast will be served in the fellowship room from 7:45 to 9:30 a.m.

Christian education classes will not meet on Easter. Spanish Easter service will be led by Pastor Dan Fickenscher in the conference room at 10:45 a.m.

Radio worship service is every Sunday at 9:30 a.m., and “The Lutheran Hour” is every Sunday at 7 p.m., both on WYGS 91.1 FM.

Moms in the Word meets Monday, April 1, in the nursery at 10 a.m. for fellowship, snacks and a children’s devotion.

Wednesday adult Bible classes meet in the fellowship room at 9 a.m. studying the Book of Acts and at 6 p.m. studying the Book of Jude. Childcare is provided for the evening class. A Bible Class for women led by Deaconess Taylor Fickenscher will meet Thursday, April 4, in the conference room at 6 p.m.

The community is invited to the Early Childhood Ministry racing-themed CARnival on Saturday, April 13, 2 to 4 p.m. in the church parking lot offering game booths, prizes, food, inflatable slide, face painting and goats.

Registration for 2024-2025 preschool and kindergarten is underway. Pre-K-3 meets Tuesdays and Thursdays, 8:15 to 11:15 a.m.; PreK-4 meets Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, 8:15 to 11:15 a.m.; kindergarten meets weekdays 8:15 to 11:45 a.m. Programs nurture spiritual growth, love of learning, including Christ-centered and developmentally appropriate curriculum, Minds in Motion, and before/after school care options.
