Trinity splits pair to open season

VERSAILLES — Trinity Lutheran opened its baseball season by splitting a pair of games on Saturday at South Ripley. The Cougars fell to South Ripley 5-4 and beat Austin 2-1.

Trinity led South Ripley 4-3 after six innings before the Raiders scored two in the bottom of the seventh. Drake Goodpaster went 2 for 3.

Jackson Trueblood, Kowan Gross and Chase Bode combined on a no-hitter against Austin for the Cougars (1-1).
