County remains under slight risk for severe weather today and Tuesday

Flood watch in effect until Tuesday afternoon

A flood watch is in effect from 8 p.m. Monday through Tuesday afternoon.

Repeated rounds of heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected overnight which may lead to flash flooding. Around 2 inches of rain is expected through Tuesday with locally higher amounts possible.

The National Weather Service says Bartholomew County remains under a slight risk for severe weather today and Tuesday. Flash flooding is also possible as multiple strong to severe storms are likely through Tuesday night.

The storms could have large hail, damaging wind gusts and isolated tornadoes.

Additional strong to severe storms are possible Tuesday afternoon through early evening, mainly near and south of the I-70 corridor.

One to three inches of rain is expected with locally higher amounts possible.

Scattered severe storms possible late Tuesday morning through early Tuesday evening.

  • Multiple rounds expected Sunday through Monday.
    • Round 1 – 4 AM to 12 PM (Monday)
    • Round 2 – 12 PM to 8 PM (Monday)
    • Round 3 – 8 PM (Monday) to 4 AM (Tuesday)
    • Greatest threat – After 5 PM (Monday)
    • Additional heavy rain – This evening into Tonight (Monday)
    • Most likely timing for Flash Flooding risk – 5 PM (Monday) to 8 AM (Tuesday)
    • Heaviest rain expected 10 PM (Monday) to 6 AM (Tuesday)
