INDOT to have lane closures on State Road 46 over Gnaw Bone Creek

BROWN COUNTY — Indiana Department of Transportation contractor Dave O’Mara Contractors plans to conduct alternating lane closures along State Road 46 over Gnaw Bone Creek just west of Hoover Road beginning on or after Wednesday, April 10, to complete a bridge deck overlay project in Brown County.

The alternating lane closures will take place approximately 3.5 miles east of the State Road 135 and State Road 46 intersection and are expected to remain in place until late August, weather permitting. The planned lane closures will alternate between eastbound and westbound State Road 46, while work is in progress. Temporary traffic signals will be utilized to conduct the planned lane closures. Crews will begin to place signage in the area prior to the start of construction.

This project is part of a $1 million contract awarded to Dave O’Mara in August 2023. INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, use extra caution and avoid distractions when traveling near work zones. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.
