Lynda Petro, 86 of rural Shelby County, Indiana went to be with her beloved husband, Bob, on March 30, 2024. She was born November 15, 1937 in Shelby County, Indiana, the daughter of Matthew and Evelyn (Tucker) Gahimer. She met the love of her life, Bob Petro in 1953. They were married June 8, 1958 and he preceded her in death on August 22, 2005. They were blessed with a daughter, Beth, who was their pride and joy.
She is her survived by her daughter, Beth (Richard) Clark, sister-in-law, Linda Petro, and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Iris Gariup, and brother-in-law, Edward Petro.
Lynda grew up in Marietta, Indiana and graduated from Mt. Auburn High School in 1956. She volunteered at Silver Oaks Health Campus for 16 years.
She was an avid TV sports fan of NASCAR, basketball, and enjoyed listening to Elvis Presley.
Lynda wanted to thank the Columbus Regional Hospital, Cancer Center for their expertise and passion. She had been a patient there since 1999, her neighbors for their kindness, Silver Oaks, and Hospice of South Central Indiana.
A funeral service will be conducted by David Ashbaugh at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home in Edinburgh, Indiana. Calling will be from noon until time of service. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to Silver Oaks Health Campus activity fund or Hospice of South Central Indiana.
