UPDATE: National Weather Service issues ‘freeze warning’ for county

COLUMBUS, Ind. — The National Weather Service has issued a freeze warning for Bartholomew County from 2 a.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday.

Sub-freezing temperatures as low as 28 degrees are forecast for all of central Indiana.

Frost and freeze conditions will kill crops, other   sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing.

COLUMBUS, Ind. — A freeze watch has been issued for late Friday into Saturday morning in Bartholomew County.

Subfreezing temperatures as low as 26 degrees are possible in all of central Indiana.

Plants should be covered and outdoor water pipes should be wrapped, drained or allowed to drop slowly. Those with in-ground sprinkler systems should drain them and cover above-ground pipes to protect them from freezing.
