William Richard Walker, 82, of Columbus, died at 11:14 a.m. on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, surrounded by family.
William was born January 19, 1942, the son of Horace T. and Martha Jean Wayman Walker. He later married Peggy Grimes Walker. She preceded him in death on March 18, 2021.
William grew up in Seymour, Indiana. He retired from Rockwell Automation. He was a loving husband and father. William loved going to Florida where he would fish and go boating. William will be remembered for being a very hard worker and a good man. He will be greatly missed by his family.
The funeral will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 5, 2024, at Jewell Rittman Family Funeral Home with Pastor Michael Black. Calling will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 4, 2024, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, April 12, 2024.

Survivors include sons, Anthony (Ashley) Lynn Walker, of Columbus, and Richard Walker, of Columbus; brother, Thomas (Phyllis) Walker, of Columbus; grandchildren, Jennifer (Franky) Edwards, of Seymour, LeeAnn (Warren) England, of Greenwood, Anthony Walker, of Columbus, Taylor Walker (Allen Blount), of North Vernon, Mae (Jesse) Fisher, both of Indianapolis, Paul (Janeen) Nyberg, of Seymour; 15 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, along with John (Shelby Wright) Grimes, and Rose and Jordan Miller.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Peggy, and a daughter, Lisa Pauline Reese in 2018. Grandson Michael Anthony Wyatt Jr in 2007.
Services were entrusted to the Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home.
