Jennings County jail commander arrested after near collision with deputy’s vehicle

BUTLERVILLE – Jennings County Jail Commander Natasha Goins was arrested and booked into the Ripley County Jail Saturday after a Jennings County deputy on patrol said her passenger van crossed the centerline and nearly struck his patrol vehicle head-on on Highway 50E near Butlerville.
The deputy initiated a traffic stop, where he made contact with Goins, investigators said. The deputy observed signs of alcohol impairment and immediately notified the Indiana State Police, who then took over the investigation.
After the investigation, Goins was arrested and booked into the Ripley County Jail, deputies said.
According to the release from the Jennings County Sheriff’s Office, Goins has been placed on unpaid administrative leave pending termination upon release from incarceration.
