COLUMBUS, Ind. — More than 1,000 people are enjoying the Eclipsing the Renaissance event at the Columbus Municipal Airport, with hundreds watching the jousting going on at the event. Another 200 are watching a fairly complex aerialist act.
Columbus Mayor Mary Ferdon is in the crowd.
Some youngsters who are attending are dressed as knights.
Columbus Municipal Airport Director Brian Payne said, “I couldn’t be more pleased.”

COLUMBUS, Ind. — The crowd is growing at the start of the Eclipsing the Renaissance event at the Columbus AirPark and Columbus Municipal Airport.
A family-oriented crowd has been streaming in, with plenty of strollers. No traffic problems at all at the gate or on Central Avenue in general.
Organizers remind people that the event is free with free parking.
The grounds also are neat and unmuddy and easily accessible.
A Celtic performance began just a few minutes ago.
The event features food, performers, armored combat demonsgtrations, jousing, falconry and more.
