Crimson Pride drop DH at Oakland City

OAKLAND CITY — IU Columbus baseball dropped a River States Conference doubleheader Saturday at Oakland City, falling 13-3 and 17-3.

The Crimson Pride matched the Oaks with 11 hits in the opener. Cyrus Robinson went 3 for 4, with a double, Jennings County graduate Austin Martin went 2 for 3 and Lucas Slager went 2 for 4 with a double. Nathan VanBibber, the first of three IUC pitchers, took the loss.

Oakland City held the Crimson Pride to three hits in the second game. Martin and Robinson each had a double. Columbus North graduate and starter Casper Clark took the loss.

IUC (10-33, 2-18) will play a single game today at Oakland City, then will host Miami-Hamilton at 3 p.m. Wednesday before playing its final home games of the season in a doubleheader with Asbury beginning at 1 p.m. Wednesday.
