Alongsider Church — Alongsider is a community of house churches coming together to worship as one church at YES Cinema on the first and third Sundays of the month. It’s a place of belonging where members learn, grow, experience community, and pray together.
Our house churches meet in neighborhoods on the second and fourth Sundays for worship through conversational study and community building. The congregation focuses on care and connection, prayer, and sending one another out.

Asbury United Methodist Church — Asbury offers a traditional service at 8:45 a.m. and a contemporary service at 11 a.m. Nursery is available for both services. Kids’ church is offered only at the 11 a.m. service. Sunday school classes meet at 10 a.m. Asbury offers a variety of classes and group studies at various times during the week. Central Heights Church of God — The church offers 9:30 a.m. Sunday School for all ages and worship services at 10:30 a.m. The message will be led by Pastor Jason Johnson. Children’s church takes place during service and a nursery is available.

East Columbus United Methodist Church — Sunday morning worship service begins at 9 a.m. The morning blended worship service includes praise music and traditional hymns. Children receive a special message during children’s moment and are dismissed for children’s church during the service. Sunday school begins at 10:10 a.m. with classes for all age groups. Holy Communion is served on the first Sunday of each month.

Fairlawn Presbyterian Church — The church has in-person and Zoom services at 9:30 a.m. To join on Zoom, email the church office at [email protected] to request a Zoom link.

Women’s Bible study is the third Tuesday of each month at 1 p.m.

Faith Lutheran Church — Worship each Sunday begins at 9 a.m. in person and livestreamed on the church’s Facebook page. Most Sundays, Sunday school and an adult Bible study are offered from 10:15 to 11 a.m. Wednesday evening worship is offered at 6:30 p.m. each week.
Preschool classes continue throughout the school year and the congregation offers an afterschool program each school day from 3 to 6 p.m. with busing from Southside Elementary.

First Baptist Church — Worship begins at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday mornings, with both a nursery and children’s programming available. The church also has several Sunday school offerings and different Bible study groups that meet throughout the week. The church is excited to have a new senior pastor, the Rev. Evan Guse.

First Presbyterian Church — The church will celebrate the ordination of two new elders on the third Sunday of Easter. In this season, the church is looking at teachings from Jesus in the Gospel of John, and Pastor Felipe Martinez’s sermon on John 5:25-29 will be titled “The Trouble with Resurrection.”

First United Methodist Church — On Sunday, April 14, at 10 a.m., the Rev. Howard Boles will deliver the message, “Children of the Resurrection.” The Scriptures will be Luke 24:36b-48. The church encourages those attending in person to arrive 10 minutes before the service. Child care will be available from 9:45 a.m. until the end of the 10 a.m. service. Sunday school for children ages 4-12 will start at 9 a.m.
For those unable to attend the in-person service or not yet comfortable meeting in person, service livestreams will be available on the church Facebook page and the church YouTube channel (FUMC Columbus). Videos will be available on the church website for later viewing as well.
Biscuits and gravy and waffles! Join the youth group in the fellowship hall after worship service on Sunday, April 14. The church is continuing to fundraise for its youth mission trip.
The next brown bag luncheon will be on Wednesday, April 17 at noon. This is an informal time to share lunch and meet new people. Along with enjoyable fellowship there will be a time for conversation together. No advance sign up is needed. Just bring a lunch for yourself and meet us in room 116.
Following the April 21 service, make your way to the fellowship hall for a light lunch and then board games. All ages are welcome.
The selection for the April book club is “They May Not Mean To, But They Do” by Cathleen Schine. This book addresses topics such as aging, family dynamics, grief, loneliness, and the ability to adapt and change. Join us for this discussion in the church library on Sunday, April 21, at 6 pm. Copies of the book are available in the church library.

Petersville United Methodist Church — Pastor Rebecca Milne will begin her sermon series, “Resurrection Stories,” on April 14 at the 9 a.m. worship service; her sermon will be titled “Free” and will feature Scriptures from Luke 24:36b-48.
Kathy Bush will serve as song and worship leader. Teresa Covert will share the children’s sermon. Fellowship and refreshments will follow worship. The service will be available to view on Facebook throughout the week.
A newly started knitting group will meet each Tuesday morning at 9 a.m. at Connie Nolting’s.
Anyone in the community is invited to enjoy a meal and a time of sharing at “The Table” at the church every second Thursday at 6 p.m. in the fellowship hall. There is no charge for the meal, and the next gathering will take place on May 9.
The United Women of Faith (UMW) will meet April 18 at the church at 3:30 p.m. Karen Mize will be hostess. Chris Kimerling is president of the group, and Kathy Bush will give the program.
The United Methodist Men meet the first Sunday morning of each month at 7:15 a.m. at the church; Don Harris is president and the group currently is using the book, “Uncommon Life” by Tony Dungy, former coach of the Indianapolis Colts.

Sandy Hook United Methodist Church — Sandy Hook United Methodist Church gathers weekly for in-person and online worship. This Sunday, April 14, service starts at 11 a.m. Pastor Paul Dazet will bring a message titled “Freed” as part of the new sermon series, “Resurrection Stories.”

St. Paul Lutheran Church — Pastor Jeff Patterson will present the message “More Than a Miracle” based on Acts 3:1-21 Sunday at the 8 and 10:45 a.m. services.
Christian fellowship begins at 9:10 a.m. with Christian education classes beginning at 9:30 a.m. Pastor Doug Bauman will lead a discussion, “Two Kingdoms Living”, in the fellowship room. Taylor Fickenscher will lead “A Study of Hymns” in the conference room. Senior youth will study “Life’s Big Questions, God’s Big Answers” led by Dave and Jen Probst. The Spanish worship service will be led by Pastor Dan Fickenscher in the fellowship room at 10:45 a.m.
Matins prayer service is offered each Wednesday in the church at 10:15 a.m.
Radio worship service is every Sunday at 9:30 a.m., and “The Lutheran Hour” is every Sunday at 7 p.m., both on WYGS 91.1 FM.
The community is invited to the Early Childhood Ministry racing-themed CARnival today from 2 to 4 p.m. in the church parking lot, offering game booths, prizes, food, inflatable slide, face painting and goats.
Wednesday adult Bible classes meet in the fellowship room at 9 a.m. studying the Book of Acts and at 6 p.m. studying the Book of Jude. Childcare is provided for the evening class.
A Bible Class for women entitled “An Honest Look at Sunday School Stories” and led by Deaconess Taylor Fickenscher will meet Thursday, April 18, in the conference room at 6 p.m.

South Central Indiana Christian Men’s Fellowship — SCICMF will meet on April 23 at 6:30 p.m. at the Muscatatuck Christian Ranch to kick off a three-day event called, “Making Christ Real” with guest speakers, meals, music, fellowship and camping.
The 6:30 p.m. meal will include pork chops and chicken. The meeting will begin at 7:15 p.m. followed by “Minute Men” where young preacher boys will present a five-minute sermon. There will also be special music and congregational singing.

2024 Rural Community Fellowship — A service of worship that also will collect an offering for the Jefferson County House of Hope food pantry in Madison. The theme is, “We Have Come Together as Christians, So, Now What?” focusing on Ecclesiastes 4:12. Refreshments will follow the service.
