Bull Dogs hold off Bloomington North

BLOOMINGTON — A night after throwing 163 pitches in a 10-inning one-hitter in a win against Columbus East, Bailee Scruggs threw 150 pitches Tuesday night in Columbus North’s 8-6 Conference Indiana softball victory at Bloomington North.

Scruggs threw a six-hitter and struck out 14, the last coming with the tying run at the plate in the bottom of the seventh. She is the lone healthy pitcher for the Bull Dogs (4-1, 2-0) after ace Payton Morris was injured on Monday.

Scruggs also went 2 for 4 with a double and two RBIs at the plate. Kelsey Lovelace and Morgan Jarvis each went 2 for 4.
