HOPE
Patsy Jo Stephens, 81, of Hope passed away on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at her home.
Born on November 3, 1942 in Columbus, Patsy was the daughter of Fred Guthrie and Faustina Woods Sims. Patsy graduated from Hauser High School in 1961. She had been employed as a Certified Nursing Assistant in Miller’s Merry Manor and previously employed at Dollar General in Hope.
Patsy enjoyed doing crafts and going fishing with her companion, Roscoe Wells.
Survivors include daughter, Patti Rose of Troy, TX; grandchildren, Christina Rice, Michael Thompson, Misty Morrison, Jennifer Thompson, Amanda Kinney, Norma Strain, all of Indiana, Geoffrey Martin of Michigan, Kristi King of Nevada, and Jeffery Rose and Justin Rose, both of Texas; 25 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister, Donna Burton of Columbus; her cat, Half-Moon; best friend, Hester Frady of Hope; and several nieces and nephews.
Patsy was preceded in death by her parents; children, William Charles Martin, Lula May Thompson, and Bettie Ann Martin; companion, Roscoe Wells; and brother, Bill Guthrie.
Patsy will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Patsy’s body was donated to the Anatomical Education Program through IU School of Medicine following her wishes. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, April 19 at 4 p.m. at Hope House of Prayer in the Fellowship Hall, 514 Market Street Hope, IN.
