Update: Bartholomew County REMC lineworker listed in stable condition in burn unit in Indianapolis hospital

COLUMBUS, Ind. — The Bartholomew County REMC lineworker injured by an electrical shock at about 9 a.m. Thursday in the Shadow Creek Farms subdivision is listed in stable condition in an Indianapolis hospital’s burn unit, utility officials said.

According to REMC officials, the worker is conscious and talking.

ORIGINAL STORY

COLUMBUS, Ind. — A Bartholomew County REMC lineworker was transported by Lifeline helicopter to an Indianapolis hospital after sustaining an electrical shock at about 9 a.m. Thursday while working on utilities in Shadow Creek Farms subdivision at Lakecrest and Shadow Creek Boulevard.

Columbus firefighters said the worker was conscious and communicating with fire department personnel before being transported by helicopter from the Bartholomew County Fairgrounds to an Indianapolis hospital for treatment.

The line worker did have burn injuries and first responders said internal injuries were also possible in this incident.
