Payton Morris and Bailee Scruggs combined on a one-hit shutout Thursday to lead Columbus North to an 11-1, five-inning Conference Indiana softball win against Southport.
Morris allowed one hit, while striking out six and walking two in three innings before aggravating the knee injury that she hurt in Monday’s win against Columbus East. Scruggs struck out six and walked one over the final two innings.
Kelsey Lovelace went 3 for 4, and Morgan Jarvis went 2 for 2 with a triple and three RBIs for the Bull Dogs (5-1, 3-0). Miley McClellan went 2 for 3 with a double.
