Alongsider Church — Alongsider is a community of house churches coming together to worship as one church at YES Cinema on the first and third Sundays of the month. It’s a place of belonging where members learn, grow, experience community, and pray together.

Our house churches meet in neighborhoods on the second and fourth Sundays for worship through conversational study and community building. The congregation focuses on care and connection, prayer, and sending one another out.

Asbury United Methodist Church — Asbury offers a traditional service at 8:45 a.m. and a contemporary service at 11 a.m. Nursery is available for both services. Kids’ church is offered only at the 11 a.m. service. Sunday school classes meet at 10 a.m. Asbury offers a variety of classes and group studies at various times during the week. Central Heights Church of God — The church offers 9:30 a.m. Sunday School for all ages and worship services at 10:30 a.m. The message will be led by Pastor Jason Johnson. Children’s church takes place during service and a nursery is available.

East Columbus United Methodist Church — Sunday morning worship service begins at 9 a.m. The morning blended worship service includes praise music and traditional hymns. Children receive a special message during children’s moment and are dismissed for children’s church during the service. Sunday school begins at 10:10 a.m. with classes for all age groups. Holy Communion is served on the first Sunday of each month.

Fairlawn Presbyterian Church — The church has in-person and Zoom services at 9:30 a.m. To join on Zoom, email the church office at [email protected] to request a Zoom link.

Fellowship and coffee hour is every Wednesday at 7 p.m. Contact the church for the Zoom link.

Women’s Bible study is the third Tuesday of each month at 1 p.m.

Faith Lutheran Church — Worship each Sunday begins at 9 a.m. in person and livestreamed on the church’s Facebook page. Most Sundays, Sunday school and an adult Bible study are offered from 10:15 to 11 a.m. Wednesday evening worship is offered at 6:30 p.m. each week.

Preschool classes continue throughout the school year and the congregation offers an afterschool program each school day from 3 to 6 p.m. with busing from Southside Elementary.

First Baptist Church — Worship begins at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday mornings, with both a nursery and children’s programming available. The church also has several Sunday school offerings and different Bible study groups that meet throughout the week. The current Bible Study series for both the men and women is being led by Pastor Evan Guse, titled “When God’s Heart Moves: Stories of Compassion” and will carry on through the first week of May. Women’s Bible study is Thursdays at 9 a.m. in the chapel and men’s Bible study is Fridays at 7 a.m. in the fellowship hall.

First Presbyterian Church — On the Fourth Sunday of Easter, the church will affirm the faith of its confirmation class members. They have been on a spiritual journey with their mentors and teachers as they explore their faith and their call to serve God. The sermon this Sunday from Pastor Felipe Martinez will be based on John 14:18-24 and will be titled “I Didn’t Bring You This Far to Desert You.”

People in the community in need of a meal are invited to hot meals offered at 5 p.m. Friday (please enter through the glass doors on Franklin Street). The church is an LGBTQ-friendly church, open and affirming to all.

First United Methodist Church — On Sunday, April 21, at 10 a.m., the Rev. Howard Boles will deliver the message, “The Comfort of a Friend.” The Scriptures will be Psalm 23 and John 10:11-18. The church encourages those attending in person to arrive 10 minutes before the service. Child care will be available from 9:45 a.m. until the end of the 10 a.m. service. Sunday school for children ages 4-12 will start at 9 a.m.

For those unable to attend the in-person service or not yet comfortable meeting in person, service livestreams will be available on the church Facebook page and the church YouTube channel (FUMC Columbus). Videos will be available on the church website for later viewing as well.

After the April 21 service, a light lunch followed by board games will be offered in the fellowship hall. All ages are welcome.

After service on Sunday, April 21, join the church in the fellowship hall for a conversation on the United Methodist General Conference, where Boles will share insights into what legislation will be coming and topics to be addressed.

The selection for the April book club is “They May Not Mean To, But They Do” by Cathleen Schine. This book addresses topics such as aging, family dynamics, grief, loneliness, and the ability to adapt and change. Join the club for this discussion in the church library on Sunday, April 21, at 6 pm. Copies of the book are available in the church library.

On April 25, at 10 a.m. in the fellowship hall, join Pastor Harriet Wilkin for another crafting extravaganza. She will have more Iris folding patterns available to make cards, plus other craft supplies for making spring-themed items. Sign up in advance so there are plenty of supplies. Walk-ins are welcome.

Garden City Christian Church — Sunday school classes are available for infants through adults at 9 a.m. Join the church for a blended worship service with lead pastor Brian Gilroy on Sunday morning at 10 a.m.

Troop IN-0110 meets twice monthly on Thursdays from 5:30 to 7 p.m. during the school year.

Mount Pleasant Christian Union Church — The church invites the community to visit the little 150-year-old country church for a 10:30 a.m. service every Sunday. The church preaches out of the King James Bible and sings out of hymn books. The church is Bible-based, Christ-centered, and spirit-led.

Petersville United Methodist Church — Pastor Rebecca Milne will continue her sermon series, “Resurrection Stories,” on April 21 at the 9 a.m. worship service.

Kathy Bush will serve as song and worship leader. Teresa Covert will share the children’s sermon. Fellowship and refreshments will follow worship. The service will be available to view on Facebook throughout the week.

A newly started knitting group will meet each Tuesday morning at 9 a.m. at Connie Nolting’s.

Anyone in the community is invited to enjoy a meal and a time of sharing at “The Table” at the church every second Thursday at 6 p.m. in the fellowship hall. There is no charge for the meal, and the next gathering will take place on May 9.

The United Methodist Men meet the first Sunday morning of each month at 7:15 a.m. at the church. Don Harris is president and the group currently is using the book, “Uncommon Life” by Tony Dungy, former coach of the Indianapolis Colts.

Sandy Hook United Methodist Church — Sandy Hook United Methodist Church gathers weekly for in-person and online worship. This Sunday, April 21, service starts at 11 a.m. Pastor Paul Dazet will bring a message titled “Found” as part of the new sermon series, “Resurrection Stories.”

Sunday school is offered for all ages from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. The nursery is available from 9:30 a.m. until after service. Online services can be found on the church Facebook page or YouTube channel.

Join the church for this Pastor-led Bible Study focusing on the book of Galatians, held on Wednesdays at noon from April 24 to May 29. St. Paul Lutheran Church — The Good Shepherd will be celebrated Sunday with Pastor Doug Bauman presenting the message “Knowing and Living the Good Shepherd’s Love” based on I John 3:16-24 Sunday at the 8 and 10:45 a.m. services.

Christian fellowship begins at 9:10 a.m. with Christian education classes beginning at 9:30 a.m. During the Christian education hour, confirmands Owen Arnholt, Jax Branaman, Russel Chun Escalante, Madelynn Dougherty, Elliana Glick, Madeline Johnson, Keren Lewis, Luke Warren, and Liam Wiltsey will give their Confession of Faith. Their Rite of Confirmation and First Communion will be Sunday, April 28, at the 10:45 a.m. worship service. The Spanish worship service will be led by Pastor Dan Fickenscher in the fellowship room at 10:45 a.m. with Spanish Bible Study at noon.

Matins prayer service is offered each Wednesday in the church at 10:15 a.m.

Radio worship service is every Sunday at 9:30 a.m., and “The Lutheran Hour” is every Sunday at 7 p.m., both on WYGS 91.1 FM.

Wednesday adult Bible classes meet in the fellowship room at 9 a.m. studying the Book of Acts and at 6 p.m. studying the Book of Jude. Childcare is provided for the evening class.

East Columbus United Methodist Church — Grace’s Table is a free meal available for anyone to attend. The meal is every second Sunday of the month at 5 p.m. inside the Youth Center Building adjacent to the main church building.

South Central Indiana Christian Men’s Fellowship — SCICMF will meet on April 23 at 6:30 p.m. at the Muscatatuck Christian Ranch to kick off a three-day event called, “Making Christ Real” with guest speakers, meals, music, fellowship and camping.

The 6:30 p.m. meal will include pork chops and chicken. The meeting will begin at 7:15 p.m. followed by “Minute Men” where young preacher boys will present a five-minute sermon. There will also be special music and congregational singing.
