Jennings County deputies identify victim in pedestrian accident on State Road 7

JENNINGS COUNTY — Jennings County Sheriff’s deputies have identified a pedestrian who died after being hit by a vehicle at 4:55 p.m. Friday on State Road 7 near Queensville.

The victim was identified as Ross Miller, no age or address provided, according to deputies.

When deputies arrived at the scene, they saw several military medics providing medical care to the victim, who was transported from the scene and later died, deputies said.

According to investigators, Miller was walking south along the west side of State Road 7 when he attempted to cross the highway and was struck by a southbound 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by Bonnie Bryant, no age provided, Scipio.

Bryant was transported to the hospital for evaluation after the crash, deputies said.

Jennings County deputies were assisted by Rescue 20, Scipio Geneva Fire Rescue, several members of the military and Lucas Towing.

Deputies said alcohol or drugs are not believed to have been a factor in the accident.
