IU Columbus blanked Midway (Kentucky) 3-0 before falling 10-3 in the second game of a River States Conference doubleheader Wednesday at Ceraland.
Sydney Owens threw a five-hit shutout in the opener for the Crimson Pride. Columbus North graduate Lexi Heafner went 2 for 2, Izzy Johnson went 2 for 3 and Delanie Bronner had two RBIs.
Johnson went 3 for 3 with a double, and Mallory Shelton went 2 for 3 with a double and two RBIs in the second game. Erica Henry, the first of three IUC pitchers, took the loss.
The Crimson Pride (11-25, 9-19) will wrap up the regular season with doubleheaders Friday at Brescia and Saturday at Oakland City.
