Crooners for CASA, a fundraising event to support Columbus-based nonprofit Advocates for Children, drew a sold-out crowd and generated about $40,000 in donations. More than 200 people packed the Mill Race Center to see five groups of performers and vote for their favorites.

1999

The sounds of the ’50s and ’60s filled Mill Race Park when singer Bobby Vee brought his tunes to the 13th annual Hospice of South Central Indiana/Arvin Foundation concert.

1974

Mary Ann Meyer was named valedictorian of the Class of 1974 at Hauser High School in Hope, with Cynthia Hull named salutatorian. Other students ranked in the Top 10 were Natalie Scheidt, Janice Finke, Irma McQueen, Floyd Rutan, Teresa Tedder, Kevin Lashley, Dawn Weeks and Leland Ramsey.
