UPDATE: Victim identified in Edinburgh fatal stabbing

A man was stabbed early Monday morning in Edinburgh.

Police officers responded to the report of a stabbing at about 12:22 a.m. in the 6400 block of E. State Road 252. Upon arrival, officers located a 48-year-old white male who was stabbed. Officers and Edinburgh medics attempted life-saving efforts at the scene but the man was pronounced deceased, according to Edinburgh Police Chief Doyne Little.

The male is identified by the Johnson County Coroner’s Office as Michael Gene Adair, 48, of Edinburgh.

A person of interest was detained at the scene for questioning. Edinburgh Police is working with the Johnson County Prosecutor’s Office regarding charges for this incident, Little said.
