UPDATE: Bartholomew County under ‘enhanced risk’ for severe weather today, tornado watch issued

Bartholomew County has the potential for severe weather over the next couple of days.

A tornado watch is in effect until 9 p.m. Tuesday.

  • Bartholomew County is now under an Enhanced Risk for severe weather today.
  • Bartholomew County is split between a Slight Risk (northern half) and an Enhanced Risk (mainly southwest half) for severe weather Wednesday.
  • Increased threat in severe thunderstorms will occur Tuesday afternoon and evening
  • Broader tornado threat across central Indiana today. This includes a giant hail threat.
  • A shift southward in severe potential for Wednesday. Primary focus is now across the southern half of Indiana.
  • Another severe thunderstorm risk for Wednesday evening and overnight.
  • Elevated flooding threat also on Wednesday for southern Indiana.

Highest risk for today is between 4 and 10 p.m. with tornado threat in effect from 5 to 9 p.m. today.
