The Columbus Municipal Airport won the Balchen/Post Award from the American Association of Airport Executives for snow and ice removal the past winter. Airport director Brian Payne accepted the award on April 28 at the International Snow Symposium in Buffalo, N.Y.

Sen. Bob Garton, R-Columbus, was the keynote speaker at the Ivy Tech State College commencement ceremony in the Columbus North High School auditorium. Garton urged graduates to make their graduation a day of new beginning.

Twenty-four members of the local Business and Professional Women’s Club and their guests attended the 56th annual State Convention of Indiana Federation of Business and Professional Women’s Clubs, Inc. at the Sheraton Hotel in French Lick.
