Edinburgh plans open house for new water treatment plant

EDINBURGH — The town of Edinburgh officials will have a ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house for the new water treatment plant at 10 a.m. May 22.

The water department staff will lead tours of the facility from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Hamburgers and hot dogs will be served.

The project includes a new 1,000-gallon-per-minute well and rehabilitation of the three existing wells. It produces 2.1 million gallons per day and is expandable to 2.8 million gallons per day.

It was designed by Wessler Engineering Inc. of Indianapolis and constructed by Graves Construction Services Inc. of Switz City. The wells are by Peerless Midwest Inc. of Tipton.
