Children had an opportunity to play the wizarding game of quidditch from the Harry Potter series at the ninth annual Literacy Festival at Central Middle School. Along with the game, students dressed up for a costume contest and won door prizes from the Literacy Task Force.

ColumbusConnect, a Columbus-centered, community-based website was launched, which was linked to The Republic’s new online edition.

The Columbus Visitors Center celebrated its first birthday with 562 visitors taking tours arranged by the center. Among the visitors were architect Edward Larabee Barnes and 41 representatives from Extension Homemaker clubs in six counties.
