Panthers net runner-up in Brownstown Sectional

BROWNSTOWN — Jennings County finished second in Thursday’s Brownstown Central boys track and field sectional. Springs Valley won with 128.5 points to 103 for the Panthers, 95 for Brownstown and 90.5 for Seymour.

Jennings advanced to Thursday’s Bloomington North Regional in 11 events. Blaine Ison led the Panthers with wins in the 100 meters (11.24 seconds) and 200 (22.53).

Will Barnes finished second in both the 110 hurdles (15.66) and 300 hurdles (41.39) and third in the long jump (20 feet, 4 inches). Kraedyn Young took second in the 1,600 (4:27.16) and fourth in the 800 (2:02.16), Branden Braun was second in the long jump (20-5 1/4), Logan Lawson placed fourth in the pole vault (11-0) and Jackson Earl finished fourth in the high jump (5-10).

Barnes, Dawson Leak, Young and Braun took second in the 4×400 relay (3:30.72). Logan Hifo, Loki Hifo, JoJo Hifo and Ison were third in the 4×100 relay (43.91).
