SHELBYVILLE — The Columbus East vs. Shelbyville baseball game in the Shelbyville Sectional semifinals has been postponed to noon Monday because of wet field conditions.
The winner will meet Franklin in the sectional final at 6 p.m. Monday.
Franklin blanked East Central 10-0 in five innings in Friday’s first semifinal. That game featured a lightning delay of about an hour in the top of the third inning.
Following that game, Shelbyville took infield in preparation for the second game. East had just started to take infield when lightning was spotted, causing a delay. Rain then dumped water on the field, and after it stopped about 20 minutes later, about 9:30 p.m., the field was deemed unplayable and the game was postponed.
