Alongsider Church — Alongsider is a community of house churches coming together to worship as one church at YES Cinema on the first and third Sundays of the month. It’s a place of belonging where members learn, grow, experience community and pray together.

House churches meet in neighborhoods on the second and fourth Sundays for worship through conversational study and community building. The congregation focuses on care and connection, prayer, and sending one another out.

Asbury United Methodist Church — Asbury offers a traditional service at 8:45 a.m. and a contemporary service at 11 a.m. Nursery is available for both services. Kids’ church is offered only at the 11 a.m. service. Sunday school classes meet at 10 a.m. Asbury offers a variety of classes and group studies at various times during the week. Central Heights Church of God — The church offers 9:30 a.m. Sunday School for all ages and worship services at 10:30 a.m. The message will be led by Pastor Jason Johnson. Children’s church takes place during service and a nursery is available.

East Columbus United Methodist Church — Sunday morning worship service begins at 9 a.m. The morning blended worship service includes praise music and traditional hymns. Children receive a special message during children’s moment and are dismissed for children’s church during the service. Sunday school begins at 10:10 a.m. with classes for all age groups. Holy Communion is served on the first Sunday of each month.

Fairlawn Presbyterian Church — The church has in-person and Zoom services at 9:30 a.m. To join on Zoom, email the church office at [email protected] to request a Zoom link.

Women’s Bible study is the third Tuesday of each month at 1 p.m.

Faith Lutheran Church — Worship each Sunday begins at 9 a.m. in person and livestreamed on the church’s Facebook page. Most Sundays, Sunday school and an adult Bible study are offered from 10:15 to 11 a.m. Wednesday evening worship is offered at 6:30 p.m. each week.

Preschool classes continue throughout the school year and the congregation offers an afterschool program each school day from 3 to 6 p.m. with busing from Southside Elementary.

First Baptist Church — Worship begins at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday mornings, with a nursery and children’s programming available. The church also has several Sunday school offerings and different Bible study groups that meet throughout the week. Women’s Bible study is Thursdays at 9 a.m. in the chapel and men’s Bible study is Fridays at 7 a.m. in the fellowship hall.

First Presbyterian Church — On Trinity Sunday, the church will give God thanks for Dianne Sprunger’s faithful service as our church organist and choir director for over a decade. This will mark her last Sunday on staff, so we look forward to sharing in worship together, reminiscing with her at a reception following the service, and celebrating her ministry with a pitch-in dinner at 5 p.m. that evening. Pastor Felipe Martinez’s sermon will be based on Matthew 28:16-20 and will be titled “The Many Names of God”.

First United Methodist Church — On Sunday, May 26, at 10 a.m., the Rev. Harriet Wilkin will deliver the message, “The Dance of Life.” There will be multiple Scripture texts used. The church encourages those attending in person to arrive 10 minutes before the service. Child care will be available from 9:45 a.m. until the end of the 10 a.m. service. Sunday school for children ages 4-12 will start at 9 a.m.

For those unable to attend the in-person service or not yet comfortable meeting in person, service livestreams will be available on the church Facebook page and the church YouTube channel (FUMC Columbus). Videos will be available on the church website for later viewing as well.

Join the church after service Sunday, May 26 in lifting up those who have made a difference in our lives. If you are a leader, plan on staying after the service for a reception in your honor. If you have received the benefits from some of these leaders, plan on attending to let them know how much of a difference they have made in your life. The church also is lifting up someone who had taught for 50 years, shaping our young minds.

The Interfaith Peace Camp will return from June 10 to 14. Camp will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. indoors and outdoors at UUCCI (7850 E. Goeller Road, Columbus). Volunteers make this week of sharing talent, time, and having fun together possible. The Children’s Ministry Coordinator at UUCCI, Adrienne Summerlot, will oversee day-to-day Peace Camp as well as training and oversight of volunteers. Love Chapel will once again have a booth at the Bartholomew County Fair to sell food. They are asking area churches to provide volunteers to assist with this important fundraiser. FUMC has committed to providing staff for the breakfast on Friday, June 28. About a dozen volunteers are needed from 6:45 to 11 a.m. that day. Garden City Christian Church — Sunday school classes are available for infants through adults at 9 a.m. Join the church for a blended worship service with lead pastor Brian Gilroy on Sunday morning at 10 a.m.

Mount Pleasant Christian Union Church — The church invites the community to visit the little 150-year-old country church for a 10:30 a.m. service every Sunday. The church preaches out of the King James Bible and sings out of hymn books. The church is Bible-based, Christ-centered, and spirit-led.

Petersville United Methodist Church — Pastor Rebecca Milne will present her sermon at the 9 a.m. worship service on Sunday.

Kathy Bush will serve as song and worship leader. Teresa Covert will share the children’s sermon. The service will be available to view on Facebook throughout the week.

The Mountain Mission Truck Pick-Up will take place June 11 at the annex on the northeast corner of the church property. Items should be boxed or prepared for easy loading and should be at the annex by June 10.

Anyone in the community is invited to enjoy a meal and a time of sharing at “The Table” at the church every second Thursday at 6 p.m. in the fellowship hall. There is no charge for the meal, and the next gathering will take place on June 13.

Sandy Hook United Methodist Church — Sandy Hook United Methodist Church gathers weekly for in-person and online worship. This Sunday, May 26, service starts at 11 a.m. Pastor Paul Dazet will bring a message title “Is There a God?” as part of the new sermon series, “Wrestling with Doubt”.

Sunday school is offered for all ages from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. The nursery is available from 9:30 a.m. until after service. Online services can be found on the church Facebook page or YouTube channel.

On Wednesdays through the end of July, join the church for a short time of praise and prayer, beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the church parking lot, followed by pickleball. This will be facilitated by Dale and Linda Guse.

“Deep Sea” Vacation Bible School will be July 8 to 10 from 6 to 8 p.m., except the last night, which will be until 8:30 p.m. The event will take place Monday, July 8 at Petersville UMC; Tuesday, July 9 at First Lutheran Church; and Wednesday, July 10th at Sandy Hook UMC. St. Paul Lutheran Church — The Trinity will be celebrated Sunday at the 8 and 10:45 a.m. services with Pastor Jeff Patterson presenting the message “Holy, Holy, Holy Love” based on John 3:14-17.

Christian fellowship begins at 9:10 a.m. with Christian education classes for all ages beginning at 9:30 a.m. During the Christian education hour, Pastor Doug Bauman will lead a discussion, “Two Kingdom Living” in the fellowship room. Taylor Fickenscher will lead “A Study of Hymns” in the conference room. Senior youth will study “Life’s Big Questions, God’s Big Answers,” led by Dave and Jen Probst. The Spanish worship service will be led by Pastor Dan Fickenscher in the fellowship room at 10:45 a.m. with Spanish Bible study at noon.

Matins prayer service is offered each Wednesday in the church at 10:15 a.m.

Radio worship service is every Sunday at 9:30 a.m., and “The Lutheran Hour” is every Sunday at 7 p.m., both on WYGS 91.1 FM.

Final Wednesday adult Bible classes will meet in the fellowship room at 9 a.m. studying the Book of Acts and at 6 p.m. studying First John. Childcare is provided for the evening class. Classes will resume Aug. 7.

South Central Indiana Christian Men’s Fellowship — Flat Rock Christian Church will host the May meeting at their church on Tuesday, May 28. The meal will be at 6:30 p.m. and include fried chicken, mac & cheese, cole slaw, green beans, rolls, desserts, and drinks.

The meeting will begin at 7:15 p.m. with speaker Nathan Juniper, youth minister at Flat Rock Christian Church.
